How to Create a Professional Resume in 5 Minutes

A professional resume is your ticket to landing an interview. Our free online Resume Builder is designed to help you create a polished, modern resume in just a few minutes. This guide will walk you through each step of the process.

First, navigate to the Resume Builder tool. The page is split into two sections: the editing panel on the left and the live preview on the right.

Step 1: Fill in Your Personal Details

Personal Details

This is the first section of the builder. Fill in your name, contact information, and a brief professional summary. You can also upload a professional headshot, which is optional but recommended.

  • Full Name: Your complete first and last name.
  • Title / Role: Your desired job title, e.g., "Full-Stack Developer".
  • Contact Info: Your phone number and email address.
  • LinkedIn: The URL to your LinkedIn profile.
  • Summary: A 2-3 sentence paragraph summarizing your skills and career goals.

Step 2: Add Your Work Experience

Work Experience

This is the most important part of your resume. Click the "Add Experience" button to add a new role. For each job, include:

  • Job Title: Your role at the company.
  • Company Name: The name of the employer.
  • Duration: The start and end dates (e.g., "Jan 2020 - Present").
  • Description: Use bullet points (start a line with a "-") to list your key responsibilities and, most importantly, your achievements.

Step 3: List Your Education

Education

Add your degrees and academic qualifications here. Click "Add Education" for each entry.

  • Degree: E.g., "Bachelor of Science in Computer Science".
  • Institution: The name of the university or college.
  • Duration: Your graduation year or years of attendance.

Step 4: Highlight Your Skills

Skills

List your most relevant technical and soft skills. Click "Add Skill" to add more fields. Keep this section concise and focused on what's most important for the jobs you're targeting.

Step 5: Preview and Download

Download Your Resume

As you fill out the form, the resume preview on the right updates in real-time. Once you are happy with the result, simply click the **"Print / Save as PDF"** button at the top of the form.

This will open your browser's print dialog. In the print destination options, select **"Save as PDF"** to download your new resume.

That's it! You've created a professional resume ready for job applications. Good luck with your search!
