How to Use the Image Toolkit for Resizing
Resizing images for websites, social media, or documents is a common task, but it can be a hassle. Our free Image Toolkit simplifies this process by allowing you to resize images directly in your browser, ensuring your files are never uploaded to a server. This guide focuses on the Image Resizer feature.
Step 1: Upload Your Image
The first step is to select an image from your computer. Click the "Choose File" button under the "Upload Image" section. This will open your device's file explorer. Navigate to and select the image you wish to resize. A preview of your image will appear once it's loaded.
Step 2: Set Your Desired Dimensions
In the "Image Resizer" tab, you'll find input fields for **Width** and **Height**.
- Enter your desired width or height in pixels.
- By default, the **"Keep aspect ratio"** checkbox is checked. This is highly recommended as it prevents your image from being stretched or squashed. When this is active, changing the width will automatically update the height to match, and vice versa.
- If you need specific, non-proportional dimensions, you can uncheck this box.
Step 3: Resize and Download
Once you are happy with the new dimensions, click the **"Resize & Download"** button.
Your browser will immediately begin processing the image and will automatically trigger a download of the newly resized file. The downloaded file will be named `resized-[original-file-name]`.
Because all the work is done on your computer, the process is incredibly fast and completely private.
That's all there is to it! You can repeat the process as many times as you like with different images or different dimensions.
